Oh my gosh, it's finally done. *sigh of relief!* This is a commission for the wonderful and super patient ! It's been a long time coming, which is completely my fault. So I actually tried my best on it, and I think this has turned out to be one of my best pieces to date. (A lot of my friends agree!)
She wanted a Legend of Zelda piece, since she's such a huge fan (as am I, bro! ;o; ) with Midna and Link. I doodled up a few options for poses, and she went with the sad near-death scene of Link. We both seemed to have a penchant for tragedy, so it worked out in the end. I actually drew and started to ink Midna and Link three times before I settled on the actual drawing you see here. It's why it took so long, I could NOT get what I had in my head down on paper, so I gave up and tried again. I didn't want to give something I wasn't happy with.
In the end, the pose here was what I went for. Originally I used myself as reference for Link, and he ended up having an enormous ass. That was hilarious. XD (I changed it since then, obviously, haha!)
So this piece is called "Out Of Hearts" for obvious reasons. Poor Link ran out of fairies and there's no more heart pots in this boss chamber. There's nothing Midna can do except comfort him as he games over. ;___;
Do you want to continue?
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Link, Midna (c) Nintendo Art is by me! Textures for rock/granite found at various free resources.
PLEASE DO NOT TRACE, PRINT, COPY, REDISTRIBUTE.
EDIT: I am no longer answering the question "HOW DID HE LOSE TO THE WEAK SPIDER BOSS?" Use your imagination, people!!!! XD
Holy frack. The details, the coloring, the lighting....
The tears. ;_;
For some reason I really love the position of Link's feet, with his toes kinda toward each other? Somehow it adds to the weakness here as his strength runs out. Also I love how you left subtle trails to show where the monster's swipes went.... like that wicked one down the left side of his face? Looks like his hooked his lip and.... gads that thing coulda put out his eye!
But I guess he's got bigger problems now. ;_;
Rupees on the ground....
Thanks for feeding my dark-fix for the next, like, ever.
CRUMPLED! That's the word I was looking for! The position of his feet add to his crumpled appearance.
Haha, and oh no, don't be sorry. I enjoy this particular sadness. It's lovely. I death scenes. Hmm, I wonder if there's a stamp for that....
Also I love how Midna's magical hand o' hair that she uses for so many other things like bashing and crushing and fighting and stuff.... is just so.... tender, here. T_____T
Oh my gosh I heart this piece forever. ;_; No pun intended.
You never really think about what the companion is feeling when you have that game over text floating above you...and now I have the image - very well done ^_^

If the people we love live on in us, the way to help them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn. People die. But real love is forever.
